The Forum, which is held twice a year, was chaired by Shirley Hunter, Director of Bootle-based Base Energy Services. Speakers at the Forum included Brian Sloan, Deputy Agent from the Bank of England, who provided an economic update. Paul Stowers, from the Department for International Trade (DIT), highlighted DIT’s forward strategy and Matt Parish, Director of the LFC Foundation, explained how local businesses could get involved in the foundation’s work.
Together with informative presentations from expert speakers, the Sefton Economic Forum also provided a networking opportunity for delegates from an array of different sectors.
Cllr Marion Atkinson, Sefton Council’s Labour Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Skills, said: “You only have to look at the calibre of speakers to appreciate the value of the InvestSefton’s Economic Forum to local businesses. We appreciate the informative nature of the presentations and the level of insight from experts in their field. The forum is getting bigger each time we host one and it is encouraging to see such a range of Sefton businesses participate.”
